What was your first job as a journalist?
I did a number of internships, including The Washington Center for Politics and Journalism at The Chicago Tribune's Washington, D.C. bureau.

Yes, a long time ago.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Not sure. When I was a child, I watched re-runs of the Mary Tyler Moore's TV Show. Must binge re-watch the series to see how it holds up.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a great journalist means being fair, doing your research and reaching out to a wide variety of sources for their opinions and input.

Not sure.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
As a freelance writer, I am the one doing the pitching. If you are a PR professional, I might take a look at a health-related press release.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I love my MacBook Air with all of the tools and software that are included with any Apple products.

Journalism has changed drastically. It may not be a full-time life-long career for you, so always work on furthering your education/skillset
