Flavin-induced charge separation in transmembrane model peptides
Flavin-induced charge separation in transmembrane model peptides Flavin-modified peptide models derived from the α-helical transmembrane segment of the epidermal growth factor receptor were synthetically modified with a flavin amino acid as photo-inducible charge donor and decorated with tryptophans along the helix as charge acceptors. The helical conformation of the peptides was conserved despite the modifications, notably also in lipid vesicles and multibilayers.
Excited state dynamics of homoleptic Zn(II)dipyrrin complexes and their application in photocatalysis
Excited state dynamics of homoleptic Zn(II)dipyrrin complexes and their application in photocatalysis We present photophysical studies on homoleptic zinc-dipyrrin complexes representing intramolecular donor-acceptor systems. Intramolecular charge transfer depends on ligand variation and intermolecular environmental influences. In particular, we focus on steady-state and transient absorption methods to compare the response of the ligand dynamics with that of the complexes after photoexcitation.

Cover Feature: Phase‐Dependent Long Persistent Phosphorescence in Coumarin‐Phosphine‐Based Coinage Metal Complexes (Chem. Eur. J. 31/2023)
Graphical Abstract The afterglow of coinage metal complexes synthesized by using novel coumarin-functionalized aminodiphosphine ligands is depicted. A hybrid character of the ligand led to compounds with afterglow luminescence at low temperatures, which is clearly visible to the naked eye after the UV excitation is turned off. More information can be found in the Research Article by P. W. Roesky and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202300497). Artwork: Vanitha Reddy Naina and Lakshmi Prabha Edappilly.
