Hades was a huge breakout hit in 2020, so I was sad when a few months later Curse of the Dead Gods came out and did not get the same fanfare. They were both in the same field – mystery dungeon isometric combat games – and although Hades had the better story, CotDG had the better combat. This might be a controversial opinion but I am sticking to it. It is heartening to see that my fellow Xbox Tavern writer also liked the game and gave it a 9.1 for their review.

Curse of the Dead Gods is the latest rogue-lite to come to the Xbox platform. It spent the past year-plus on Steam’s Early Access program being refined by the developers Passtech Games, who built a solid foundation and kept adding more and more content until its release last month. The game is an isometric dungeon crawler with many randomized elements. It features an intricate combat system with many different weapon options and combinations.

Nach fast einem Jahr im Early Access wird Curse of the Dead Gods (ab 15,99 bei kaufen) am 23. Februar 2021 für PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Switch und Xbox One erscheinen. Die Entwickler bedankten sich in dem Zusammenhang für die Unterstützung bei der Spielerschaft und die vielen guten Anregungen (89 Prozent positive Nutzerreviews; n=2.069). Zum werden Early-Access-Abschluss wird das finale Update auf Version 1.0 bereitgestellt, schließlich steht das Treffen mit dem "God of Death" noch aus.

Curse of the Dead Gods Console Versions Confirmed by Developer
Passtech Games‘ roguelike action title Curse of the Dead Gods entered Steam Early Access today. Whenever the roguelike’s full PC launch goes live, Passtech Games will also release console versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. At the time of writing, a solid launch date is not yet known.
