The BIG Now - Patrick Hicks Author
QUOTE “Licks… God help me if I play ‘em. I want only new music to come from these sweaty fingers…always new music. Something I have never played before, and it has to come from somewhere besides my mind.” Tommy lived the life of an unequaled giant in the Hollywood recording scene. In his music as in his life, these were his words Quote – Think Big, Talk Small, and Thank God.” Message – So from where did these musical Savants get their gifts?
The Grace Affect Book - Patrick Hicks Author
I am working on his 6th book. This one will be different from the others in that in addition to telling some of his own, this book will be an anthology or collection of stories from others. The subject of the book will be inspiring, true experiences that people have had, life changing times that readers will be encouraged and motivated by. Some may be about how your life was saved, or how you saved another persons life. Your story may involve the school or music but it doesn’t have to.
A Conservative Approach to Pain Management
This month we will explore the role of chiropractic in the treatment of pain. There is an increasing need for non-drug approaches to reducing pain and improving health. Chiropractic health care is a healthy alternative to medical care and medication for many types of pain. Chiropractic and other alternative treatments are often a safer and more effective treatment for pain than opioid based medications and other riskier treatments.
The Mystery Play
You see, I am not the mind that writes books. Though brilliant, the mind is only thoughts, powerless egoic thoughts, thoughts of judgment, fear and regret, yet also thoughts of mercy, charity and compassion. The mind doesn’t create, only God creates. We are given our minds to negotiate through the relative world of humanness, and the mind serves a useful purpose, but it is not who we are. We are not mind, we are Awareness – that which was never born, and never dies.

Tommy lived the life of an unequaled giant in the Hollywood recording scene.

Awareness a Mystifying Word
Who is behind this thing called Life? Grace… That’s what I call it (Her). Psychics sometimes call it guides, Christians call it Jesus, Hindus call it Brahman, Muslims call it Allah. The list of belief systems go on and on. Others scoff at the whole idea of someone or something watching over us. Atheists and Agnostics can believe what they want, but how bleak and limiting are their views of life, limiting them to thoughts proceeding from the rice pudding we call our brain.
Ever Ask Yourself, How Did I Get Here From There?
Born during the Great Depression, August 1st 1934 I burst on the scene a mover and a shaker, a daring risk taker. We were poor. My father had TB and couldn’t work. I was the youngest of 5 children living in a tiny home in North Hollywood, California, lovingly cared for by our stay at home mom. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley pretty much a latch key kid. By the 1940’s my father was dying of TB in the VA hospital while my mother worked for the post office sorting mail for a meager salary.
