Directive 8020 launches online multiplayer for a shared horror experience
Supermassive Games today launches an online multiplayer mode via a free update for its sci-fi survival horror adventure, Directive 8020. Gather a group of up to five players online across separate or shared locations, and board the Cassiopeia, each taking control of a different character. Work together (or don’t!) to survive alien mimics, deadly dilemmas, and catastrophic system failures.
My Arms Are Longer Now preview
What do you do when you're a disembodied arm that's very, very long? Investment banking? Heart surgeon? Or maybe adult movie star (actually, that could work … oh dead god!). Well, if you're the protagonist of My Arms Are Longer Now, you go around stealing things, of course. It's a novel concept, and one that sounds great on paper for a stealth comedy game.
Odd Town
Have you ever been stuck somewhere you didn’t like? Did you feel like an outsider, with glaring eyes and mutterings about you being a stranger? No? Well, you’re in luck, as I have the game just for you. Presenting Odd Town, a game about being stuck in a weird place, with weirdo people, and there’s a mystery to solve. And you can punch whoever you want! Nice.
Truckful
There's something lovely about jumping into an old pickup truck, loading up the cargo bed, and heading out into the countryside to deliver goods to locals. It's a simple premise, but Truckful makes it surprisingly enjoyable, thanks to its gorgeous art style, cosy atmosphere, and a mysterious world hiding some rather nasty surprises. Unfortunately, while there's plenty to love about this delivery adventure, a few bumps in the road prevent it from reaching its full potential.
Time to find Eddie Velvet - Silver Pines’ Launches Today
Silver Pines, the creepy survival-horror game from Swedish developer Wych Elm, has launched today, publisher team17 has confirmed.
1666: Amsterdam preview: A spellbinding cat-led adventure that needs polish
The game industry releases and announces new titles every day. So having that USP for your upcoming title is like gold dust in a heavily crowded market. One title which grabbed my attention, and many other people’s, was 1666: Amsterdam. A supernatural adventure set in 17th-century Amsterdam, involving witches, investigations, strange creatures and a trusty companion in the form of a black cat. And they’re just the sweetest devil-worshipping kitty there is.
Adorable sniper fun! Sniper Dan now for PC and Consoles

Sniper Dan
Like my dad always said, older women are much more fun, and there’s no problem you can’t solve with a sniper rifle. And fair enough, this appears to be true, if Sniper Dan is anything to go by. This colourful hidden item game puts us into the shoes of Dan, a hardworking everyman who’s on the clock to solve as many problems as possible, with his trusty bolt-action sniper rifle.
Cloverpit: Unholy Fusion
I can see the fun and dangerous side of gambling … especially when your life depends on a lucky roll or hitting the jackpot. For the last week, I've been locked in a grimy room with nothing but a toilet, a chest of drawers, and a slot machine with a menacing voice telling me to gamble as if my life depended on it... and it did! And I loved it! Dealing with the Devil, yet again?

Satellite Odyssey: Jupiter playtest preview
When I saw the trailer for Satellite Odyssey: Jupiter, I could immediately spot the Bioshock and Resident Evil influences, wrapped in a beautiful art deco sci-fi style. While Bioshock 4 is still... in development? It's nice to see an indie developer take a stab at the future-retro horror formula, complete with robots, beautiful singers, and the worst thing ever created made even more horrifying: flies. Specifically, flies that have evolved into humanoid beasts.
Hollowbody - Console
Looking at the Twitter landscape (the good stuff, not the bad stuff), you can see plenty of indie darlings in the making. Horror games continue to thrive, with old-school survival horror enjoying a resurgence and proving that the genre still has plenty of life left in it. We had a modern-day classic debut last year, and now that classic is finally making its way onto consoles with a host of new features and content not present at launch.
Gambonanza
Chess and roguelikes sound like a great combo. Much like gambling and roguelikes, it's a pairing that's become increasingly popular in recent years. So here's another roguelike with a neat chess theme, testing your strategy skills, forward thinking, and luck through a variety of modifiers that can turn your bishops into absolute badasses. Gambonanza combines two of my three favourite things: chess and roguelikes. Naturally, I was bound to love it, right? The third thing is tall vampire mommies.

Froggy Hates Snow
Winter is a harsh time in the animal kingdom, facing the elements head-on. Whereas we humans can stay in homes and have the heating on … well, not so much as before. Frogs are one of many denizens of nature that burrow deep into the Earth and hide away until the days become longer and warmer (Nice). But maybe some frogs don’t have that luxury and instead must face the extremities of the cold.
Thick As Thieves
I’ve been hankering for a proper stealth game lately, a genuinely sneaky stealth game, not another strange hybrid. It’s been over 12 years since the revival and death of Thief, and sadly, it doesn’t look like Styx: Master of Shadows or its sequel are coming back anytime soon. But good news: we finally have a brand-new stealth game about thieves from the studio led by legendary developer Warren Spector, known for Deus Ex and Epic Mickey.

Industria 2
INDUSTRIA 2 is a game haunted by ambition. Much like its 2021 predecessor, Bleakmill’s survival horror sequel reaches for something far larger than its budget can comfortably sustain. Yet within those cracks lies one of the most atmospheric and visually unsettling indie horror games in recent years, a bleak, oppressive journey through a world where nature, machinery, and humanity have fused into something deeply unnatural.
Directive 8020
Supermassive Games has spent the last decade refining cinematic choose-your-own-adventure horror. Since Until Dawn exploded onto the scene back in 2015, the studio has carved out a niche almost entirely of its own, blending branching narratives, gruesome deaths, and high-pressure decision-making into one consistently entertaining formula. And now we have Directive 8020, quite possibly the biggest and most ambitious Dark Pictures title to date.
Nine Sols
“Get Gud” – the phrase that haunts many gamers and communities, often used as a blanket to excuse what could be poor balance or ill-balanced mechanics. The idea of “hard for the sake of hard” is always a difficult one to agree on. Plenty of games provide challenge, but not every game or gamer is the same, or made for everything. Nine Sols wears its influences with pride, a mix of Hollow Knight and Sekiro.
OPUS: Prism Peak
As I grow older, I become increasingly attached to certain things. I’m an avid collector of old video games (The Xbox 360 is retro now, yay!), little bits from my childhood, and more importantly, photos. I used to laugh at my partner wanting to capture everything in photo form, but now I get it. I’m also, like so many people, just tired. Tired of work, the world continually burning, and wanting a moment to reflect in peace. I have those moments … and I have my reviews.
Hades 2
2020 was an interesting year for several reasons: politics, an epidemic, and gaming. During that darker time, we had some brilliant games to keep us sane. One such game was Hades. It’s wild to think six years have passed, and we finally have a sequel in Hades II. I had my doubts. I wasn’t sure a sequel was even needed. I was wrong. Hades II is just as special as the original, and in some ways improves on the key criticisms many of us had back in 2020. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel.
Co-op western; Far Far West sells more than 250,000 Copies In 48 Hours on Steam

Mouse: P.I. For Hire
Gaming is a lot like a cheese board (yes, there will be cheese puns in this review), with all sorts of variety, tastes, and combinations to be had. There’s the fancy Brie, the tangy blue cheese, and even that special kind with cranberry in it. But honestly, at the end of the day, you can’t beat a great classic: a mature cheddar sandwich with butter, and a nice can of cola to wash it down. Simple, reliable, and satisfying.
