Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

Editor, Belleville News-Democrat. Unless you count my four very successful years with the award winning student newspaper, The Temple News.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Haha, no. I do remember dial-up though, which has some parallels.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Wordpress, Tweetdeck, and Grammarly (one of those is a must-have...)

What's your favorite social network?

Really into instagram. I think pictures are the best way to tell a story and a persons profile can say a lot about them.

Who do you wish followed you?

Childish Gambino. Really into his music. Maybe a Flyer?

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No I didn't I was actually on track to be a robotics engineer by the time I graduated high school.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Temple News had an extremely dedicated project covering Temple's decision to eliminate seven Division I sports. It was an awesome adventure.

What's your favorite drink?

Apple Cider 'til I'm sick. It's the only way to go.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

At a hockey game.... on my phone.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

The Verge. No one covers the tech industry better than Nilay and his team.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

B2B coverage is actually super rewarding. Both the CE and CI industry resonate with passion, are super involved, and can call BS a mile away.
