How is social media changing news?

It's eating the resources that used to be dedicated to journalism.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Microsoft Word, Airtable, Asana

Why did you become a journalist?

I was curious about everything that crossed my path.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

We didn't have a high school newspaper, but I *did* found and edit our elementary school newspaper.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Early in the week. I review them in the mornings.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On a beach.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That travel writing is like taking a vacation. It's fun, but not controlling your own schedule is the opposite of taking a vacation.
