What was your first job as a journalist?

I wrote sports movie reviews & covered the Santa Barbara International Film Fest for a local website in college.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. I own one. Primarily use it just for personal letters, though.

How is social media changing news?

It's making it easier to follow stories instantaneously as they develop from all over the world.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter for the on-going and immediate conversations taking place there, Tumblr for the sheer fun.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Any time after I've had coffee.
