Paul Gabrail’s Biography

Paul Gabrail, a disciplined investor, has carved a niche through his strategic focus on value investing. He is the founder of "Everything Money," a digital show on YouTube where he imparts lessons on building wealth over the long term using stocks, real estate, and business development. His teachings emphasize adopting the correct mindset, handling emotions efficiently, and understanding the processes essential for successful value investing.

Born in Mosul, Iraq, in 1981, Paul moved to England with his family when he was just six weeks old. His parents, both physicians, underwent additional training in England. The family's journey then took them to the United States, where they sought and were granted political asylum during a vacation. They moved several times within the U.S. before eventually settling in Canton, Ohio, in 1990.

Paul's interest in investing sparked during his time at Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. It was the late 1990s, a period marked by the burgeoning internet boom. He joined an investment club and was introduced to Warren Buffett's principles. This exposure led to a pivotal moment for Paul, shifting his focus from speculative stock buying to true investing—viewing stock acquisition as buying into a business. This realization changed his entire investment philosophy.

Paul graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in economics in 2003. The following year, he established The Crossroads Group, a company that initially focused on investing in apartment complexes across Ohio and renovating homes for rental purposes. His brother has since taken over as CEO of the company.

During the financial downturn of 2007-2008, while many investors retreated, Paul aggressively pursued opportunities in real estate and the stock market, a move that significantly enhanced his portfolio. His approach, marked by a keen eye for undervalued assets, continued to define his investment strategy.

Paul's real estate ventures have expanded to include significant acquisitions like a 200-unit apartment complex in Louisville, Kentucky. His investment strategy centers on potential rental income and the intrinsic value of properties that others might overlook due to their lower rents.

In the stock market, Paul focuses on companies that are temporarily undervalued but have strong potential for robust future cash flows. He expects these selections to yield returns well above the market average. His investment decisions are strictly data-driven, avoiding any influence from personal biases.

Paul's expertise and successful strategies have not only been recognized in several interviews but have also been featured in articles for The Property Investor magazine. He shares his knowledge through "Everything Money," which began as a podcast in 2018 and transitioned to a YouTube channel in 2020. The channel has rapidly grown, amassing over 265,000 subscribers and featuring more than 2,700 videos that help viewers understand complex investment concepts and strategies.

Beyond his professional life, Paul is an avid chess player, maintaining a rating of 1750 on chess.com. He plays chess daily and has played 300 games per month on average, missing only one day since 2016. He also enjoys interacting with the public through Twitter polls.

A devoted sports fan, Paul is passionate about University of Michigan football and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He cites the Cavaliers' historic comeback to win the 2016 NBA Championship as one of his most cherished memories.

Paul resides in Moreland Hills, Ohio, with his wife, Lisa, who has three children and a grandchild from a previous relationship. The couple travels extensively, with a particular fondness for London. Despite his vast accomplishments, Paul considers himself practically retired, enjoying the freedom to engage in his passions and interests daily.

This narrative of Paul Gabrail's life from an eager young investor to a prudent, seasoned financial expert illustrates his profound understanding of the investment landscape, characterized by patience and strategic foresight.
