What was your first job as a journalist?
Writing for my local paper...a job I still do as a freelancer to this day.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Professionally? No. For fun? Eh, if you could call it that...
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Telling stories. Conveying information.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Microsoft Word. It gets the job done.
What's your favorite social network?
Facebook. It's the only one where people pay attention to me.
Who do you wish followed you?
Anyone who wants to give me money.
Why did you become a journalist?
I'm a storyteller at heart, and EVERYONE has a story to tell! I want to tell those stories of real people doing real things.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Just my luck, they quit publishing my high school newspaper right when I got into high school! Poo...
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Make connections and look for opportunities in whatever you're doing. Most of my writing opportunities came from unexpected places.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time, day or night! I'm always up for a good writing gig!
What's your favorite drink?
Egg nog. Nectar of the gods, right there.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Enjoying a nice walk around a nature trail or park.
