Constructing Zero-Valent Nanotwinned Copper for the Ignition of [BMIM]N(CN)2-H2O2 Green Propellant Ionic liquid-H2O2 is a green hypergolic propellant system, and the poor self-ignition hinders its application. Herein, the stable zero-valent catalyst Cu nano-particle with twin boundaries (T-Cu) was synthesized.
Catalytic ignition of N(CN)2- ionic liquid-H2O2 with zero-dimensional Cu-MOFs Ionic liquid-H2O2 is one of the most important proposed systems for green propellants. However, as to its weak oxidizing ability, H2O2 can hardly ignite ionic liquids. Therefore, in this work, four potential low-dimensional metal-organic frameworks (Cu-MOFs 1-4) were first synthesized for the ignition of N(CN)2- ionic liquid-H2O2 system.
