Thrive Global — Make outdoor education a priority. If our children love nature, they'll be more likely to fight for it. Foster a love of nature in children by offering daily opportunities to explore outside (in both good weather and in bad weather, too!). While younger children benefit from scavenger hunts and gross-motor adventures, the outdoors provides the [...]

Thrive Global — Own your successes. I often interview women who are extraordinarily competent, but who are timid when talking about their successes. Personally, I've struggled with talking about myself and my accomplishments, but I have learned to recognize how sharing my story - the success and the failures that led to those successes - can inspire other women to embark on [...]

Authority Magazine — My mother is one of eight children; six of them, including my mother, all worked in the field of education. I attended school by day and played school by night and every weekend. By the time I was eleven years old, I started my business teaching five and six-year-old children how to read and play the piano.
