Authority Magazine — Thank you for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path? I started my undergraduate studies with the intention of becoming a chemical engineer, but that quickly changed when an introductory class opened my eyes to the many different types of engineering.

Thrive Global — I have been researching and advocating for youth and STEM for almost 10 years. Over the past 4 years I have been working on my PhD researching the topic of underserved minorities in STEM. For the most part, the US is missing a large portion of the population pursuing STEM.

Authority Magazine — My mother is one of eight children; six of them, including my mother, all worked in the field of education. I attended school by day and played school by night and every weekend. By the time I was eleven years old, I started my business teaching five and six-year-old children how to read and play the piano.

Authority Magazine — I grew up in New York City but my parents made sure that I experienced and appreciated nature. They bought a house in Princeton that we would go to in the summer and I spent about seven summers of my youth going to sleep-away-camps on beautiful lakes all around the North East.

Authority Magazine — Thank you so much for joining us! Our readers would love to "get to know you" a bit better. Can you share with us the story about how you first got involved in fitness and wellness? I remember weighing over 200lbs. I tried everything to lose it.

Authority Magazine — Thank you so much for doing this with us! Our readers would love to "get to know you" a bit better. Can you share the "backstory" behind what brought you to this particular career path? I grew up in a host foster family. My biological parents were the foster parents.

Authority Magazine — Thank you so much for doing this with us! Our readers would love to "get to know you" a bit more. Can you tell us a bit about how you grew up? I luckily grew up here in NYC where most people do not deal with challenges like dirty forms of energy in their home, unsafe water, serious security issues, sanitation challenges, food shortages, etc.

Thrive Global — I truly believe that anything is possible for women in any field. So, the biggest myth I would like to dispel is that certain jobs or certain industries are out of limits for women. There are women doing amazing things and leading in the tech, finance, automotive and space industries, all traditionally seen as male-dominant.

Authority Magazine — Thank you so much for doing this with us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path? I have always loved trees. When I was a little girl, the trees were my playmates. One day, I got introduced to an amazing tree - and I fell madly in love with its beauty.

Eric is an accomplished conservation leader with experience in government and the foundation and non-profit sectors. In his role as Senior Vice President for the Oceans program, he leads a global team of scientists, lawyers and advocates working to create thriving, resilient oceans. He brings more than two decades of experience driving complex conservation initiatives to scale.

Thrive Global — As part of my series about what we must do to inspire the next generation about sustainability and the environment, I had the pleasure of interviewing Todd Brady. Todd Brady is the Director of Global Public Affairs and Sustainability for Intel Corporation. In this role he leads state and local government affairs, media and community relations, corporate volunteerism and sustainability at the company’s major manufacturing and office locations around the globe. In addition to overseeing regulatory and community engagement strategies in the US, China, Southeast Asia, Israel, Ireland and Latin America, he directs Intel’s global initiatives to make Intel “smart & green” by leading corporate-wide sustainability programs such as climate, energy and water conservation, green design and the integration of internet of things (IoT) solutions to create smart and green offices, buildings and facilities of the future. During his 20+ years at Intel, Todd has represented the company publicly in numerous forums and led industry-wide initiatives in many national and international committees.

Thrive Global — WCIT is the signature event of the World Information Technology & Services Alliance (WITSA), a consortium of information and communications technology (ICT) associations from 83 countries, representing 90% of the industry. During the 2019 WCIT held in Armenia this year, I had the pleasure of interviewing Andrew Wycoff of The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), an international organization that works to build better policies for better lives. Andrew is the Director of the OECD’s Directorate for Science,Technology and Innovation (STI) where he oversees OECD’s work on innovation, business dynamics, science and technology, information and communication technology policy as well as the statistical work associated with each of these areas.
