Boxing
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by PernellSweetPea, . Do you people think social media hurt boxing? My friend wants to know? I think what it does is.I think it makes a lot of these boxers. It builds up their egos a little bit so that other people give them confidence, and then they don't have to prove anything.Could be wrong. I think boxing hurt boxing and social media probably didn't help. Your name or email address: Do you already have an account? No, create an account now.
The state of boxing today.
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by PernellSweetPea, . Sometimes i think the state of boxing is going down. That's what I meant. Social media has taken net down a notch. Tour the classic era stands alone. Last edited: I don’t know what Pea’s post means, but boxing’s state is that the biggest draw and best-known fighter in the world is a YouTube guy. In fact, probably a few of the other best-known ‘boxers’ are, lol. It’s a dying sport, very niche.
GGG vs. Julian Jackson
Nah, GGG pretty much gets rated fairly. He has a couple of fans who think he is a top 5-10 MW (more in general than here), and a few who thinks is a hype job....for the most part most recognize that he is/was great and a handful for any MW ever, even if he wouldn’t beat all of them. Hearns/Jackson at MW though are seeming to be higher rated than I feel is warranted. Edit:GGG would likely beat Benn at 160 but 168 would be an explosive war that I would be hesitant to pick
Any chance GG devastates Canelo like Marquez did to Pac?

How do you think a fight between Canelo and Hagler have gone?
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by BrainyBoxer, Nov 9, 2021 at 1:51 PM. Dream fight, how do you think a fight between Canelo and Hagler would have gone at middleweight. I think it would have been similar to GGG vs. Canelo but I think Hagler brings more problems for Canelo with his monster chin, workrate, jab, stamina and his ability to switch stances. What happens to Usyk's career if he loses to Joshua?
I think if Joshua went hell for leather in the first three rounds he could potentially overwhelm Usyk, but he won't do that. He's not been that kind of fighter since Wlad almost stopped him and he doubled-down on a more cautious approach after Ruiz did what Wlad just failed to do. We know AJ gasses if he moves through the gears, and so must he, so his lack of stamina compounds the motivation to be circumspect.
What happened to Wilfred Benitez?
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > Classic Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Devon, Jan 27, 2021. He went from being one of the best in the world up there with the Leonards, Hearns and Durans, beat Duran an then all of a sudden he loses to Mustafa Hamsho and never comes back to the top, he was only 24 at that time What happened? TipNom and Richard M Murrieta like this.
Pacquiao vs. GGG What are people's thoughts? I heard about this.
I heard Manny wants this fight, or might. Any thoughts? I personally think GGG (if he is still sharp) will take over and stop Manny in about 7 or 8.
The great limit of George Foreman

Was his low feet speed the big hurdle to overpass for becoming the greatest or were there others bigger? Last edited: Aug 29, 2019 He didn't have that slow feet to be fair. Best Counterpunches Ever Thrown
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > Classic Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by TipNom, Sep 20, 2021 at 11:42 AM. What are some of the best counterpunches ever thrown? While controversial of the knockout, the phantom punch Ali landed on Listen in their rematch is an absolute beauty of speed from a man over 200 pounds. While I believe the knockout itself was fixed from Liston, the counter Ali threw was the perfect. TipNom and CharlieFirpo85 like this.
Sugar Ray Leonard vs Donald Curry At WW
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > Classic Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by sas6789, Jan 25, 2019. Curry was very talented, skilled, and technically correct, perhaps even more fundamentally sound than Leonard. But he didn't have the toughness or well roundedness to handle someone like SRL. Leonard would have found a way to beat Curry and possibly stop him. Bokaj, Clinton, Man_Machine and 2 others like this. Leonard would have destroyed Curry.
