Perry Greene’s Biography
Perry Greene is the President of Taylor Commercial, Inc., a company recognized as one of the largest siding contractors in the United States. His business operates throughout the Southeastern region, handling major construction and renovation projects in key markets. Under his leadership, Taylor Commercial has completed over 25 renovation projects involving low-income housing and condominium communities.
Perry Clarke Greene was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and spent his early years in Athens, where his father worked as a minister at the Church of Christ campus. During his childhood, his family moved frequently, living in cities such as Memphis, Escondido, California, and Gainesville, Florida, before finally settling in Riverdale, Georgia, by the time he reached eighth grade. Even as a child, he stayed determined to overcome difficulties. His early ambition led him to take on work that helped build a sense of responsibility and discipline.
By the age of nine, Greene was cutting lawns and collecting cans for extra income. At twelve, he helped deliver 500 newspapers each morning alongside his family. When he turned fifteen, he worked with a business leader to help open the first Chick-fil-A Dwarf House locations in Riverdale and Jonesboro. When other children were being disciplined with time-outs, he spent that time learning from books about rental properties and sales methods. This encouraged his growing interest in sales, personal improvement, and financial independence.
Perry earned recognition as an All-State and All-Region baseball player at Riverdale High School. He later studied accounting for two years while playing baseball at Southern Union Junior College. After deciding to pursue a new goal of attending the University of Georgia, he joined the Navy Reserve to help cover the costs, serving in locations such as Hawaii and Thailand. He later participated at Harding University before transferring to the University of Georgia, where he earned a degree in accounting in 1996. That same year, he passed the CPA exam and began working at Ernst & Young.
In 1998, Greene joined a family-owned construction business and advanced from salesperson to general manager within six months. In 1999, he moved to Taylor Commercial, Inc., where he led the company’s growth from $600,000 to over $45 million in annual revenue. The company expanded across ten states, completing many siding projects and community housing renovations.
Taylor Commercial received awards, including the 1993 Heartland Commercial Contractor of the Year and multiple Norandex Reynolds honors. The company was also featured on the Inc. 5000 list in 2013. Beyond his business endeavors, he also contributed to community efforts, including donating materials for a Vietnam War memorial and supporting various civic activities.
Perry Greene raised three children, each of whom followed unique paths in academics and sports. He played a key role in supporting a congressional campaign and remains committed to co-parenting following his divorce in 2022. Today, Perry continues to focus on personal goals, community involvement, writing a book for homeowners, and enjoying time with his children and partner.
