Game Day - Eagles v Blues - AFL Rd 23, 2024 - Sun August 18th 2:40 W / 4:40 E - (Optus Stadium)
#6 If we play half decently we should win given everything thats happened to them. Their injured outs are huge, and we're at full strength at home, so no excuses to be thrashed. Curnow probably not playing, and even if he dos he wont be 100%. The one thing I worry about is they'll be desperate... don't know if I can trust us just yet, hope it's at least competitive unless they're the ones not competing. Tipping them tentatively, but would love a win, be just gravy on a good 3 weeks.
Gold Coast are scary
#3 Took a massive scalp didn't they. Lol'd Kind of disagree with OP's assessment. If you watched them the week before against Freo, they just got completely lost against our structures. Individually they are extremely talented but that will only get them so far if they can't structure up properly against good zones and pressure.
Adam Simpson appointed new WC coach - fans feel 'less shame'
Happy with the appointment. Supporters were nervous of another 'favourite son' taking the reigns. Simpson will bring in some fresh ideas. Our list is way too good to be 13th. Bring on 2014
West Ham put six past Perth after Rice's exit confirmed
West Ham moved on from the departure of captain Declan Rice Saturday with a 6-2 pre-season friendly victory over Perth Glory at Optus Stadium. Having earlier in the day confirmed Rice's drawn-out exit to Arsenal, they showed slick forward passing in front of 24,723 fans. But the Hammers needed a superb performance from goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to help overcome several lapses in only their second game since last month's Europa Conference League triumph.
Daniel Sturridge's A-League Hell Is Over After Former Liverpool Star Is RELEASED By Perth Glory
Daniel Sturridge’s inglorious time at Perth Glory has officially come to an end, with the former Liverpool star barely mentioned as the club said goodbye to seven of their players. Sturridge’s arrival at Glory after more than 18 months out of the game was met with much fanfare at the start of the A-League Men season. But the former England international barely broke out of a jog during his doomed stint in Perth, making just six appearances for a total of 139 minutes.

Player Watch - Most overrated players (current & retired) part 2
#16 Dustin Martin Alex Rance You may be baiting, but in case you aren't, this is from the AA thread. Also Rance has been in 65 1 on 1 contests this year, which is the most in the league. 2nd most is Talia with 54. So that only playing lose is just complete bs. Hes just so good that he do both. On top of that he loses 1/5.9 contests a game. Talia loses 0.8/4.9, Rampe 0.9/4.6. Those are the only 2 players that are anywhere near his loss ratio for that volume over that many games.
Football Vision 2025
With less than 2-weeks before season 13 of the Hyundai A-League kicks off, there is a calm before the storm. There have been many distractions in the long off-season within our football community, however, I wanted to reflect on the sport and the current landscape. In my view, all A-League teams have raised the bar in terms of their recruitment for the season ahead. This will only further add to the quality of the A-League in the upcoming season.
