Do Not prompt the Arch Intelligent ! ! !
Recently, I came across an interesting Oxford lecture by Professor Yuval Noah Harari, in which he draws a fascinating parallel between the emergence of Earth's oxygen-rich atmosphere and the rise of bureaucracy, suggesting that bureaucracy could become as essential to an arch-intelligence as the air we breathe is to us. One of his key points is that AI is no longer just a tool. It is becoming an agent capable of making decisions on its own. But this gave me another, rather absurd thought.
The Bell of Greystone
Role-Playing Games I must confess, when I was young, I got completely hooked on role-playing games. But I mean the classic tabletop RPGs, sitting around a table with friends and a Dungeon Master. Something that no computer RPG has ever managed to recreate. No matter how beautifully crafted the world or how exciting the story, something essential was always missing: the freedom of playing a character you truly become, fighting alongside your friends, and knowing that almost anything is possible.

Agents don't just multiply our creativity. They are also putting the entire world on a path where we still can't tell whether we're going uphill or downhill. To me, it looks like an insanely fast roller coaster, and I can barely keep up with what's happening. I've collected a handful of these flashes to share with you. The plan is to follow the events week by week, though occasionally I'll dig up some older news just to give things a bit of context.
Small Improvements Make a Big Difference in Development
As developers, we often focus on building big features and learning new technologies, but sometimes the smallest improvements make the biggest difference. Writing cleaner code, fixing small bugs, improving performance, and documenting our work can make projects easier to maintain in the long run. I'm always interested in learning new approaches, discovering useful developer tools, and hearing how others solve everyday programming challenges.

Web Components did not fail!
My comment to yesterdays Dev.to post: Web components failed. We can fix them became a full post: TL;DR: Web Components never failed. Browser vendors have used component-based architecture for decades. Yet developers keep building apps, inventing frameworks, and adding dependencies instead of embracing the platform. Build apps with frameworks. Build components with Web Components. The technology isn't the problem. Our mindset is. The Web Component story didn't start with today's Custom Elements.
Single line CV
single line CV: Creator of mordorjs and TifY, also a pipeline-operator fanatic. ðŸ‡ðŸ‡º Somewhere along the way, I got tired of constantly producing CVs, and I don’t really want to tire anyone else by making them dive into a verbose one-page CV explaining what tech stacks I’ve encountered over the past 57 years. With more than 40 years of work experience, it’s easy to see that such a list would actually say very little about me. Besides, one line of text can be sent anywhere.
Why you still need a Website Portfolio, even though everyone can Vibe Code it.
If you have been following me for a long time, you already know I have been holding off my Portfolio review for a good several months. Before you ask, yes, I will show what my portfolio has to offer. First, I want to write about something we all may have been thinking at some point, or even recently. Everyone needs a developer portfolio. It's one of the big ways to start out in the tech market because it shows your work and experience to recruiters in a friendly UI format.
Terminal is your Friend
This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Weekend Challenge: Build for a Friend What I Built My devops friend wants to learn JavaScript, but she is always getting lost in the UI. So I removed the UI. Terminal Is Your Friend is a small JavaScript/TypeScript playground where you can write code directly, run it, see the result, make mistakes, and continue. There is also an AI instructor, but its job is not to write the code for you.
Use this PIPE to feel the FLOW
A proof-of-concept TypeScript compiler with a pipeline operator. npm install -D @pengeszikra/typescript@next I’d like you to experience the same flow I discovered about five years ago, when I had the chance to use the pipeline operator in a React project. Back then, I was really into functional programming, especially the idea of building more complex workflows from small functions.
Your talent is invisible without presence.
You can build the most secure architecture in the world. You can write the cleanest code in the industry. You can solve the most complex B2B supply chain logic. But if you aren't present where your customers are, you donโt exist. In 2026, "Presence" isn't just showing up; itโs: Building in public. Owning your data and your narrative. Being the signal in a world full of AI-generated noise. Presence is the bridge between a "great idea" and a "successful business".
LLM RPG test 2026
From time to time, I test the abilities of current LLMs with an RPG task. A relatively simple prompt forms the basis for mapping abilities: prompt: Act like a role-playing game storyteller, your style should be slightly sarcastic. There should be challenges and conspiracy behind the adventures, don't make it easy for me. I will be the player: a fat merchant without any special abilities. All interactions should be short, 3 sentences maximum.
5 TypeScript Defaults That Quietly Changed in 2026 (And Why Your Build Is Now Broken)
Book: TypeScript in Production Also by me: The TypeScript Library — the 5-book collection My project: Hermes IDE | GitHub — an IDE for developers who ship with Claude Code and other AI coding tools Me: xgabriel.com | GitHub You bumped TypeScript from 5.x to 6.0 in a Renovate PR. The PR was green on your laptop. CI was green on a fresh checkout. The diff was four characters in package.json. You merged. Then the deploy queue lit up.
Your Perfectionism Is Killing Your Career Before It Even Starts
A lot of self-taught developers think perfectionism is a virtue. You obsess over: the “right” folder structure, the “cleanest” abstraction, the “correct” testing strategy for a to‑do app you never ship. Underneath that, there’s usually one thing: a brutal, silent fear of being judged. So you keep polishing, keep refactoring, keep “learning more” instead of showing your work to real people. "Perfectionism feels like a high standard.
Are We Using AI at the Wrong Scale?
We open our IDE and let a model running somewhere in the cloud read our entire codebase to add a null check - and track our behaviour along the way. We open Google Docs and ask Gemini to fix a typo. We fire up GPT-class models to refine a Slack message, restructure a comment, generate a thumbnail. We're going to shove AI into every single hole that has data for it to be trained on.
How to learn to code in 2026 before the hiring surge starts
The software engineer (SWE) job market is picking up in 2026. SignalFire reported that firms like Meta, Netflix, Uber, and Google are hiring engineers FASTER than people are leaving: Rising demand for roles specialized in AI, backend development, and full-stack infrastructure.
A Game for the Mind
Spoiler! It is time to reveal my cards: mordorjs is a joke wrapped around a serious question for all of us. It is a game for the mind. A mental exercise meant to make us think a little harder. My goal with it is simple: we should not forget how to think. We should keep exercising our minds, because this may be the most important human ability we have left. And maybe it is also one of the few things that can still help us save this planet.
NEW PROMPT INJECTION
To istnieje. To działa. To da się wykrywać. Ale to nie wyczerpuje problemu.

Letโs be honest, AI isnโt going anywhere. It's not some passing trend like fidget spinners or fashion style. As developers, weโre standing at the edge of a powerful shift. And the worst move you can make right now? Pretending like AI doesn't exist. Hereโs the truth: AI isn't here to steal your job. Itโs here to make it easier. It's not your replacement, it's your upgrade. Like a supercharged StackOverflow with better grammar and good temperament. Instead of fearing it, leverage it.
How to Reduce LLM Token Usage Without Losing Context
There’s a quiet panic happening in every serious AI engineering team today. It usually starts with a dashboard alert: “We’re burning through tokens 30% faster than projected.” The standard reaction is a rehearsed script: Trim the system prompt. Compress the chat history. Use a cheaper model for simple tasks. Aggressively truncate the context. Everyone nods, the costs dip momentarily, and three weeks later, the exact same conversation happens again.

I built phantom-ui - a Web Component that generates skeleton loaders from your real DOM
Skeleton loaders are one of those things that sound simple until you actually build them. You end up hand-coding a second layout with gray blocks that kind of matches the real one. Then the design changes, nobody updates the skeleton, and it drifts out of sync. Classic. The idea The DOM already knows what your UI looks like. Positions, sizes, border-radius, everything. So why are we manually recreating that as a skeleton?
How I started in Linux
In 2015, while pursuing my engineering degree at Amity University Noida, I bought my first personal laptop — an Intel-powered Dell Vostro. To my pleasant surprise, it came with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (“Trusty Tahr”) pre-installed right out of the box. Dell had offered select models with Ubuntu, and mine shipped with only Linux — no Windows, no dual-boot setup. It was a bold choice for a college student, but one that completely changed my computing journey. At first, I was a bit nervous.
M||D||JS = MorDorJS
This is a submission for the DEV April Fools Challenge What I Built Everybody knows that productivity is measured in LOC. The more lines of code you produce, the more serious your project must be. Clean, readable code matters too, of course. And surely you remember the old convention that a line should stay under 80 characters. We chose to move beyond that. In mordor.js, there is only one rule: the maximum line length is 1. That is all. Simple, isn’t it?
9 Things You’re Overengineering (The Browser Already Solved Them)
Would be a fascinating benchmark! On one of my projects I went Tailwind-only (no component library) for a data-heavy site with 100K+ pages — the CSS output is surprisingly small because utility classes deduplicate naturally at scale. The entire site ships under 30KB of CSS gzipped. The hidden cost with full UI kits isn't just bundle size though — it's the cascade of JavaScript that comes with interactive components you probably don't need.
Vibe Archeologist: From Z80 Assembly to an 1859 Mudbrick House and Beyond
Born a month before the Moon landing, I’ve spent 56 years watching the world shift from vacuum tubes to LLMs. While others are chasing the latest JS framework, I’m busy rebuilding an 1859 mudbrick house in Blender and writing a WASM compiler that feels like Z80 assembly. This is not just a memoir of a GitHub Copilot Challenge winner; it’s a manifesto for the "Vibe Archeologist"—the bridge between the raw silicon of the past and the fluid AI of the future.
Adventure of javascript based MMORPG creation.
This post is hidden in my dashboard long-long time ago. Because a 8 or nine years ago - fare before AI ages. I start to create a small RPG, based on older graphics, the time passed by and project start as react but later turn to nextjs/TS. Honestly now I don't using neither. But this is a bit of time travel how chaotic is my mindset that ages.
What hobbies made you a better developer?
Have you ever noticed that some of the skills we use as developers don't actually come from coding? Sometimes they come from the things that we love doing. Well, for me, that thing is playing guitar. At first, music and software development felt like completely different worlds - one is creative and emotional, the other is logical and structured. But the longer I played, the more I realized... Indeed, they are surprisingly similar. Everything has structure In music, notes are not random.
Rustroke - WASM mini draw
This is a submission for the GitHub Copilot CLI Challenge What I Built I built one of my dream projects — a minimalist vector drawing app — but with a twist. The goal isn’t to provide the usual “vector editor toolkit” (Bezier curves, snapping, boolean ops, perfect shapes, layers, etc.). Instead, it focuses on just two actions: Draw free lines Fill closed areas That sounds simple, but it’s deceptively hard. The drawing is made of independent line segments.
Microfrontends: A Solution or Just Distributed Complexity?
We live in a time where applications keep growing, teams keep getting smaller, and deployment is still slow. In this context, microfrontends seem like an obvious answer. But if an AI can generate an architecture in seconds, who takes responsibility for the consequences of that choice? The problem is not generating code. The problem is sustaining decisions. Microfrontends are a good solution in many contexts. The real question is: do they make sense in yours?
Flogon Saga ... continue
Maybe the content creation process also important to us. I was submitted my AI Video "film" to a neuro-masters competition. At this time I have a chanche to give a more detailed version of Flogon story which is missing from my game: Flogon Galaxy Game. Story is same, just I replaced the flogons to a "real ones". Created by the following softwares: AI Midjourney, Suno, Revoicer, Hailuo AI, Kling AI, Sora, Chat GPT, HitPaw, Standard iMovie, QuickTimePlayer, Krita,

A L I E N - S O L I T A R E
This is a submission for the Web Game Challenge, Build a Game: Alien Edition What I Built A L I E N - S O L I T A R E powered by jsdoc-duck Technical Achievement: I created a small jsDoc source React state handling npm module called: jsdoc-duck but until now I don't write any example application for it, I think this Challange is a right time for do it, and proof my module concept are working. Also proof the jsDoc working fine, and usable to typesafe JS coding without TypeScript.
jsDoc npm module quest
Currently I am working/maintaning legacy js/react applications, where is no option to rework to typesript, so that why I turning on jsDoc as exsisting development time type system for JS. TLDR; Typescript npm module are maded by jsDoc, useDuck bring back the golden age of redux under 70LOC. This module main usecase in development time, when help your complex state stay typesafe.
React module => No Framework
My experience with React and gaming challenge which is put me int to flow: if I was select jsDoc to eliminate language dependency (TS) from my code. Next step is a cdn tailwind insert to this project. The third one is I start develop my game bit late, even my module ( jsdoc-duck ) working as expected, and speed up my development process. But meanwhile I don't have to time poolish the game interaction and also don't contain any animation. Final one is that program don't responsive.
Quick and dirty React - Tailwind
Getting Started with Tailwind CSS, PNPM, Vite, and Theme Management In today's fast-paced development world, efficiency is key. Whether you're working on a quick prototype or setting up a new project, having the right tools can make a huge difference. I'll walk you through setting up a React project with Tailwind CSS, managed by PNPM, bundled with Vite, and equipped with a custom hook for theme management. This setup is not only efficient but also incredibly fast.
