SOME BUNNY LOVES YOU
It’s not whether you win or lose; it’s how many mediocre sequels you can squeeze out of Seussian property. Since a reformed Grinch is hardly any fun, this follow-up Grinches him up once more. Those seeking more of the same, prepare to receive precisely that. Christmas is coming (again!), and the Grinch can hardly wait. He’s been patient all year, and now he can finally show the Whos down in Who-ville how much he’s changed.
Bookworm: ‘Camp Girls’ will make you wistful for years gone past

It's a perfectly clear night to try, though.
TERRI SCHLICHENMEYER: 'Daddy Loves You!' among the sweetest father-and-me books
When Daddy’s home, you know what that means. It means that though you love your Mama very much, time spent with Daddy is different. Daddy plays other games with you, the kind that Mommy doesn’t play, and they include running and jumping and swinging. Yes, you love your Papa a lot and in “Daddy Loves You!” by Helen Foster James, illustrated by Petra Brown, the feeling’s mutual. You are Daddy’s “bunny-bear” and guess what? He loves you more than anything in the world, more than ice cream and sunshine.
DADDY LOVES YOU!
An obsessed narrator creates an alphabet book overrun with rabbits, much to the chagrin of an owl who wants to create a “proper, respectable” alphabet book. The picture book begins, “A is for A rabbit,” an illustration of a large brown rabbit taking up most of the recto.
WITH LOVE, GRANDMA
A hedgehog grandmother takes a monthlong vacation with friends while continually staying in touch with her beloved grandchild through a volume of correspondence.
A HORSE NAMED JACK
Jack, a big, dapple-gray draft horse, loves it when the neighborhood kids come visit him on the farm. One day the kids don’t show up, and Jack gets bored fast. “So Jack performs his favorite trick— / He lifts his latch with one soft click.” And with that Jack trots through the farm and down the road, getting into some mild mischief in the neighbor’s garden before dashing back to his yard. Once safely home, Jack is greeted by the neighborhood kids (who were just running late).
The Bookworm: Sharing some holiday cheer and love
You have to tell somebody. There's a secret inside you, one you've been keeping far too long and you're about to burst. You need to talk about it. You need some advice, some perspective. As in the new novel "Naughtier than Nice" by Eric Jerome Dickey, if you don't talk about this issue soon, it could be the death of you. Last Christmas Eve had been a memorable one for Frankie McBroom, for the wrong reasons: That was the day she spent thinking about how to cancel her wedding to Franklin Carruthers.
