Philip Conneller has written extensively about poker, the gambling industry and technology, including blockchain and VR.
As Senior Reporter for Casino.org, he has covered the gaming industry from Las Vegas to Macau and everything in between, focusing on its legal, political, economic and financial dimensions, as well as its emerging new trends and technological developments.
In 2004, Philip helped launch the first ever “lifestyle-focused” poker magazine, BLUFF, as deputy editor, chief-sub-editor and sole in-house writer.
He pioneered the balance of news, pop-culture, in-depth interviews and cutting-edge strategy for the US-based magazine that became the blueprint for magazines that followed. At the height of the “poker boom” in the mid-2000s, BLUFF had a print circulation in excess of 250,000.
In 2006, Philip became editor of BLUFF Europe, while retaining an editorial role within the US magazine.
He has also previously written about poker for Time Out and The Daily Star, and has contributed to numerous gaming industry B2B titles, such as iGaming Business and eGaming Review.
As an interviewer, he has interrogated some of the biggest names in the fields of sport and pop culture, from Ghost Face Killer to a reality TV star named Donald Trump.
