ABSTRACT Leisure Sickness is a growing and a modern phenomenon. However, there is a lack of evidence in explaining what it is (or is not) and whether or not groups of persons can be identified who are more or less prone to develop symptoms related to leisure sickness. Therefore, 15 affected and 15 unaffected holiday-makers were interviewed.
Abstract Objectives The study investigated a potential correlation between owning a superregional low-cost ski and leisure card, namely the Leisure Card Tirol (LCT), and perceived quality of life (QOL). Design A cross-sectional, quantitative approach (online questionnaire) was chosen. Methods In total, 1,588 LCT users as well as 684 non-users (residents living in the Alpine region of Tyrol, Austria) were reached throughout the study period.
