Large-scale proteomic characterization reveals clinically relevant subtypes of early-stage papillary thyroid cancer for prognostic prediction
Abstract Papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) has a rising incidence. The majority are diagnosed at an early stage, albeit with a minority exhibiting aggressive tendencies. Given its generally indolent nature, controversy persists regarding the management of early-stage PTCs, particularly surgical intervention and long-term surveillance strategies. Here, we conduct a large-scale proteomic characterization of early-stage PTC based on tumor samples from 797 patients.
Artificial intelligence-assisted speaking in Spanish as a foreign language: effects on foreign language emotions and willingness to communicate
Abstract Introduction: Although AI-powered conversational tools are increasingly used in foreign language education, little is known about their longitudinal effects on learners’ emotional experiences and willingness to communicate (WTC), particularly among beginner learners of languages other than English.

ProteoAutoNet: high-throughput co-eluted protein analysis with robotics and machine learning
I didn’t realize Claude could do this — 10 features hiding in plain sight I’ll admit it: for a long time, I used Claude in the most basic way possible. You know, as an alternative to ChatGPT or Gemini. And sure, that works, …
Exploring the affordances of large language models in translation learning: an exploratory case study
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) are widely considered as potential game-changers for English as a foreign language (EFL) teaching and learning, and in particular, there is a growing body of research indicating the transformative role they may play in translation learning. However, little is known about how students actually use and benefit from LLMs in their translation learningand what obstacles they may encounter during their interaction with such tools.

Multi-center multi-omics integration predicts individualized prognosis in medullary thyroid carcinoma - Nature Communications
Abstract Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is a rare, aggressive neuroendocrine tumor with limited treatment options and frequent recurrence. Comprehensive recurrence risk stratification remains lacking. Here, we profile 482 MTC samples from 452 patients across ten Chinese clinical centers, identifying 10,092 proteins and mutations in 87.0% of patients.

ProteoAutoNet: high-throughput co-eluted protein analysis with robotics and a multi-database search strategy
Abstract Co-fractionation mass spectrometry (CF-MS) enables large-scale profiling of endogenous protein-protein interactions. Protein complexes identified by CF-MS using different databases are typically integrated. However, this integration uses varying cutoffs, leading to inconsistencies in protein complex identification. Here, we present ProteoAutoNet, a robotic experimental platform integrating multi-database search strategy into machine learning models, for high-throughput CF-MS analysis.

The Spliceosome Factor EFTUD2 Promotes IFN Anti-HBV Effect through mRNA Splicing
Background/Aims. The underlying mechanisms of differential responsiveness to IFN remain poorly understood. The elongation factor Tu GTP binding domain-containing protein 2 (EFTUD2), involved in RNA splicing and pre-mRNA processing, was recognized as a novel innate immune regulator of the IFN antihepatitis C virus (HCV) effect. The aim of this study is to elucidate the mechanisms underlying EFTUD2’s involvement in IFN-mediated anti-HBV responses. Methods.
