Paper Beast: Folded Edition: Umsetzung ohne VR erscheint im Oktober
In VR war Paper Beast eine besondere Erfahrung (zum Test), heute hat Entwickler Pixel Reef allerdings auch eine Non-VR-Version des Spiels angekündigt. Paper Beast: Folded Edition wird am 20. Oktober für den PC erscheinen (zur Steam-Seite). Das Studio wird von Game-Designer Eric Chahi (Another World, From Dust) geleitet. "Paper Beast: Folded Edition basiert auf den VR-Hit Paper Beast, benötigt aber kein VR-Headset und macht das überraschende Abenteuer so für weitere PC-Spieler zugänglich.

Das surreale VR-Adventure Paper Beast ist zunächst nur für PSVR veröffentlicht worden (zum Test) - heute hat der Titel von Eric Chahi (Another World, From Dust) aber auch einen Termin für Steam, Viveport und den Oculus-Store bekommen. Am Freitag, 24. Juli soll das Spiel für Valve Index, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive sowie Windows Mixed Reality erscheinen. Passend dazu wurde ein neues "Dev-Diary-Video" zum Spiel veröffentlicht.
Pensive puzzler Paper Beast comes to PC in summer
Pixel Reef has announced that Paper Beast, its whimsical physics puzzler for PSVR, will arrive for PC in summer (via Gematsu). It will offer support for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, or Valve Index headsets. In the game, the player is pulled into an unknown world through their monitor, and solves physics puzzles by wielding earth, water, air, and fire. The beasts are made of scraps of paper, or ceramic, or jewels, and all possess their own personalities and relationship with each other and the world.

Im Vergleich zur PS4-Fassung soll die PC-Version mit "kontinuierlichem Move-Support" (Bewegung durch die Spielwelt), besserer Grafik, neuen Spielmechaniken, einem erweiterten Sandbox-Modus sowie neuen Kreaturen, Pflanzen und Gegenständen punkten.
Paper Beast Review - A Mysterious VR World (PSVR)
Eric Chahi, founder of developer Pixel Reef, likes “building immersive worlds with a poetic touch.” They’re often abstract worlds full of mystery and with rules unlike any you’ve seen before. You’ll likely have already seen these worlds in games like Another World, Heart of Darkness, or From Dust. Now his team has unleashed another world in the form of PlayStation VR title Paper Beast. It’s certainly a world worth visiting. This isn’t the first impression you get, though.

Paper Beast Release Date is Now Slated for March 24th
Pixel Reef first spoke about Paper Beast for the PlayStation VR early last year. At the time, the surreal adventure had a late 2019 release window attached. Clearly, such a launch did not come to fruition. The VR title’s release is nearly upon us now, however. Paper Beast will make its way to Sony’s VR platform later this month on Tuesday, March 24th. The game’s release date comes courtesy of a brand-new trailer, which runs just over a minute in length.

Creator Eric Chahi takes us on a tour of this unique VR odyssey ahead of next year’s launch In Paper Beast, I wanted the player to feel like they are the first explorer of a virgin land. This is how we created the game: as a journey through a unique wilderness where no human being has ever set foot. The game leads you to discover fauna and flora made from origami paper, folded metal, coral… Some elements seem familiar, such as water and sand, while others are more surreal, such as the creatures.

Paper Beast PSVR Releasing Later This Year, Featuring Paper Wildlife
Eric Chahi, maker of Another World (Out of this World in the US), spoke to the US PlayStation Blog today about Pixel Reef’s newest title, Paper Beast, coming to PlayStation VR later this year. Chahi said that in order to have complete freedom with his next project, he formed Pixel Reef. That next project became Paper Beast. It’s a VR game set within a vast network of data, where a small bubble of life has suddenly emerged.

Paper Beast is the next game from legendary French game designer Éric Chahi, and it will be coming to PlayStation VR sometime later this year. Éric Chahi is best known for creating the legendary platformer Another World, or Out of this World as it was known in North America. Developed while he was at Delphine Software, Another World told the familiar story of a genius physicist who gets transported to an alien world after an experiment gone awry.
