PJ Kirby: How to make your friendships withstand long distances now everyone's emigrating again
Our history, combined with a government that puts more effort into a bike shed than it does on the welfare of young people, has driven even more to emigrate, writes IMAGE.ie columnist PJ Kirby. Here's how to stay B.F.F.Es (that's Best Friends For Emigration) forever. Although your racist cousin in the ‘Ireland is Full’ group on Facebook overlooks it, Irish people have a rich history when it comes to emigration.
PJ Kirby: Citing your Internet sources is very demure, very mindful
There is a very thin line between celebrating a culture’s influence and just claiming it for yourself, writes IMAGE.ie columnist PJ Kirby. Every Monday, Apple sends me a weekly screen time report to let me know how much time I spend looking at the little screen you’re probably reading this article on. Each week I’m shocked by the fact I spend roughly seven hours a day on my phone. That’s forty nine hours a week. That’s 2,548 hours a year or 106 days. Shocking, I know.
PJ Kirby: Gossip needs a new PR manager
Queer writer, performer and podcaster PJ Kirby has long been a collaborator at IMAGE and we’re delighted to welcome him here as our new columnist where you can read his musings monthly on IMAGE.ie. Whether it’s an omnipresent texter exposing the inner workings of the Upper East Side and diabolically signing off with an XOXO or desperate housewives whispering about each other on Wisteria Lane, the media of my youth has painted gossipers as conniving, mischievous creatures that can’t be trusted.

PJ Kirby: A week in my wardrobe
MONDAY Ok, so it’s Monday… i.e. time to do some work because the Sunday fear had me up to 90 the night before. All my work is on the computer today. Editing, recording and virtual meetings are on the schedule so I’m going to keep it comfy. It’s giving sort of a gay street fighter fantasy and I’m here for it. I decided to wear this today because I wore it before so I didn’t need to think about “putting it together”, and also it was clean. The washing basket is full and it’s stressing me out.
I'm Grand Mam: Ep 34
1 hr 15 min This week the lads are joined by the star of the hit tv series Normal People; the ride that is Paul Mescal and everyone is up to ninety. They discuss how he is handling his newfound fame and all the attention from the gays and the girlies, get him to read some filthy thirst tweets, chat about living up to the expectations of a character from one of the most adored novel’s of our generation and basically just spend the entire episode fawning over him because he is so fecking lovely.
