Integrated phenotypic, biochemical and SSR-based characterization of nutraceutical diversity in guava germplasm
Abstract Guava (Psidium guajava L.) is an important tropical fruit crop valued for its nutritional quality, adaptability, and economic significance. However, the relatively narrow genetic base of cultivated guava necessitates systematic characterization of available germplasm to facilitate effective conservation and breeding. In the present study, 15 guava cultivars were comprehensively evaluated for morphological, biochemical, antioxidant, pigment, mineral, enzymatic, and molecular traits.

Thermal regulation of phenological development in karonda ( Carissa carandas L.) based on an extended BBCH scale
|
Abstract This study provides the first integrated phenological and thermal time framework for karonda (Carissa carandas L.) using the extended BBCH scale. Karonda is an underutilized evergreen fruit crop valued for its adaptability to marginal environments; however, standardized information on its phenological development and temperature requirements remains limited. This study aimed to (i) characterize vegetative and reproductive phenological stages of karonda cv.

Genotype-dependent profile and developmental dynamics of pyridine alkaloids in Areca catechu L.
Abstract Areca nut (Areca catechu L.) is a major tropical palm crop cultivated widely across South and Southeast Asia, with India being the largest producer. Despite its economic importance, systematic characterization of alkaloid dynamics across genotypes and developmental stages remains limited. This study quantified the temporal profiles of four key pyridine alkaloids-arecoline, guvacoline, guvacine, and arecaidine- in 15 arecanut genotypes from 6 to 12 months post-anthesis.
Energy-efficient wireless sensor networks using unequal clustering and cluster head rotation optimization
Abstract The energy hole problem is a significant challenge in wireless sensor networks (WSN) that use multi-hop routing protocols. Nodes near the base station (BS) typically experience higher energy consumption due to higher data traffic, resulting in faster network energy depletion and creating an energy hole near the BS. To address this issue, the paper proposes a solution involving a mobile data collector (MDC) in an unequal grid cluster.
Genetic divergence in Capsicum annuum L. under protected conditions based on new DUS descriptors
|
Abstract A comprehensive three-year pioneer study to develop DUS descriptors of Capsicum annuum under protected conditions was undertaken that defined 56 morphological descriptors and were utilized for genetic divergence analysis. The study revealed substantial phenotypic variability across plant, leaf, floral, fruit and seed traits, with the Shannon Diversity Index (H′) ranging from 0.09 to 1.57.

3D printing for fostering better dental education - Evidence-Based Dentistry
Abstract Aim This pilot study evaluated a novel method of teaching dental caries removal to overcome the drawbacks in using plastic teeth that neither simulate carious lesions nor emulate the hard tissues of the tooth. Methods This study evaluated the students' perception of a novel method of pre-clinical teaching of caries removal on 3D-printed teeth with a simulated carious lesion. The lesion was simulated by creating an area of low density within the printed tooth.
