The Warri Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has described as alarming, the rising cases of kidnapping, herdsmen menace and other criminal activities in Delta State. The Union, however, called on the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and security agencies to be proactive in tackling the rising insecurity, adding that the situation is fueling food insecurity.
The immediate former governor of Kogi State, Mr. Yahaya Bello, on Wednesday honoured the invitation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The former Governor was declared wanted by the EFCC for alleged fraud and corrupt enrichment while in office. A statement by his media team said the decision was after due consultations with family, legal team and political allies.
An amalgamation of Igbo traders across 58 major markets in Lagos State, on Thursday, passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, endorsing the governor’s second term bid. The traders, under the aegis of Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association, gave this backing to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the 2022 All Markets Conference organised by the association in the Amuwo Odofin area of the state.
