What was your first job as a journalist?
I was a journalist before anyone paid me to be one. I started covering entertainment and telling stories because I genuinely loved it. The paycheck came later.

How is social media changing news?
Social media has made news immediate and interactive. Stories can develop in real time, and audiences are now part of the conversation. For journalists, the challenge is balancing speed with accuracy, being first is great, but being right matters more.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Lois Lane. She’s fearless, persistent, knows how to chase a story, and isn’t afraid to ask the questions that get her closer to the truth.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means your job is to find information, verify it, put it into context, and communicate it to the public accurately and responsibly.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
#FloridaMan. Somehow the headline gets crazier every single time.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email is best
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Google Workspace, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, Instagram, and AI-assisted research and writing tools. I also use social media and digital news platforms to track entertainment trends, source stories, and manage editorial content.

Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist because I’ve always been passionate about entertainment, culture, and storytelling.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No I did not, but I worked on our High School Yearbook
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I’m especially proud of my exclusive interview with Pretty Vee.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Start before you feel ready. Build genuine relationships, ask great questions, verify your information, and never underestimate the power of consistency. You don’t need permission to start telling stories—do the work, develop your voice, and let your credibility grow with you.

Mango or Peach Lemonade. Sweet, refreshing and always a good choice.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
At an event, spending time with my family, or somewhere experiencing the culture I’ll probably end up writing about later.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Complex. I love how they blend entertainment, music, fashion, and culture while staying tapped into what people are actually talking about.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That entertainment journalism is just celebrity gossip. There’s a lot of research, relationship-building, fact-checking, interviewing, and editorial judgment that goes into telling these stories accurately while still keeping them engaging.
