My Thermostat Was Speaking an Industrial Protocol. Just Not to Me.
Where I actually started, and it isn't the thermostat Before telling the story, I need to say who did it, or none of it will make sense. I'm a senior software engineer. I can design systems, read a spec, debug ugly problems. About hardware I knew close to nothing. The only program I had ever written for an ESP32 was a loop that blinked some LEDs to a beat: a digitalWrite() inside a delay(), and the satisfaction of someone who has just invented fire.
Why Does Every AI Agent Still Look Like `while (true) { ... }`?
Open any agent codebase today — Claude Code, Codex, Pi, most of the open-source ones — and you'll find the same skeleton. Something like: let state = {}; while (true) { const plan = await llm.plan(state); const results = await runTools(plan); state = updateState(state, results); if (isDone(state)) break; } It's the natural first design. The model is the brain, the loop is the heart, and state is whatever bag of objects you've accumulated. It works great for demos.

Building a Bulletproof Multi-Platform Content Publishing Architecture
If you’ve ever written a high-quality technical article, you know the drill. You finish the draft, hit publish on your personal blog, and then the real work begins. You copy the text into Medium, only to find your code blocks lost their syntax highlighting. You paste it into Dev.to, and realize your cover image is broken because they require images to be uploaded to their specific CDN. You try Hashnode, and the GraphQL mutation rejects your payload because of a missing canonical URL tag.
🥁 Mâm Cơm Landing Page: I built a Vietnamese dinner tray on a 3,000-year-old bronze drum
This is a submission for Frontend Challenge - Comfort Food Edition, Perfect Landing What I Built When the prompt said comfort food, I did not think of a dish. I thought of a shape. Vietnamese has no word for "entrée." There is only cơm - rice - and everything laid around it. Every evening, in a hundred million homes, six or seven small dishes go onto one round tray and get eaten all at once, in any order, by everyone. We call it mâm cơm: the family rice tray. It is not a sequence of courses.
Architecting Bulletproof SaaS Billing with Stripe: Webhooks, Proration, and Usage Metrics
Building a SaaS product is a marathon, but billing is where developers often trip over their own shoelaces. A buggy feature flag system costs you a weekend of debugging; a buggy billing system costs you revenue, triggers chargebacks, and destroys customer trust. When you scale past a few hundred customers, the 'happy path' of Stripe integration falls apart. You encounter out-of-order webhooks, proration math that looks like witchcraft, and usage-based billing that accidentally double-charges users.
Pivot or Advertise
I have several vibe coded apps with no serious organic usage. Should I pivot or buy users via ads? All the 3 apps are commodity apps solving a very narrow problem. I am discouraged by the fact that there are no signups despite launching the product in multiple launch sites? What should I do? Promote via ads or Find some other idea to build?
