IR-YOLOv8 for lightweight object detection in inland waterway environments
Abstract Rapid and accurate object perception is essential for inland-waterway navigation, yet remains challenging because of complex visual environments, the lack of task-specific datasets, and limited computational resources. To address these challenges, we construct ODDIIRS, an inland-waterway object detection dataset containing 10,198 images across 12 categories, including five vessel types, four categories of floating debris, and three categories of navigation facilities or landmarks.
An investigation of the abnormalities in the microbiome‑gut‑brain axis in betel quid chewers
Abstract Betel quid (BQ) chewing, a prevalent practice affecting over 600 million people globally, is associated with systemic toxicity and neurological alterations. While dysbiosis of the gut microbiota is implicated in neuropsychiatric disorders via the gut-brain axis (GBA), its role in BQ chewers remains unexplored. This exploratory study aimed to investigate whether chronic BQ chewing is associated with gut dysbiosis and alterations in spontaneous brain activity.
