Tunable electromagnetic properties via dealloying in FeCoNiCuAl high-entropy alloys for efficient electromagnetic-wave absorption
Topics Electromagnetism, Corrosion, Crystal structure, Dielectric properties, Alloys, Materials synthesis and processing, Materials properties, Porous media, X-ray diffraction, Chemical solutions Electromagnetic radiation has become increasingly serious due to numerous electronic device applications, which threaten human health and communication security.1–4 Electromagnetic-wave (EMW) absorbing materials, which can dissipate EMW energy, have attracted much attention for addressing...

A doping strategy to achieve synergistically tuned magnetic and dielectric properties in MoSe2 for broadband electromagnetic wave absorption
Advanced electromagnetic (EM) wave absorbing materials are essential to tackle the even-increasing EM interference and pollution. Conventional methods usually combine magnetic and dielectric components for optimized impedance matching and attenuation. It is, however, challenging to simultaneously tune magnetic and dielectric properties with one wane and the other wax by adjusting the ratio between the corresponding components.
A physics investigation on impedance matching theory in microwave absorption film-Part I. Theory
IM is designed to explain the minimum peaks of RL/dB by Zin = Z0 while QWM is closely related to IM and purports to explain a set of related minima of |RL| in that the associated values of d and ν for each peak are defined as matching thickness and frequency, respectively.27 However, the QWM is flawed because the phase effects from interfaces are ignored5,22 and the theory should be replaced by an inverse relationship.10 An intuitive analysis is provided in SM3.
High-entropy enhanced microwave absorption in MAX phases
In general, there are three important parameters including the minimum reflection loss (RL), the effective bandwidth (EAB) (the corresponding frequency band where RL < −10 dB, it means 90% electromagnetic wave is effectively absorbed by materials and only 10% is reflected), and the absorber thickness to evaluate the performance of microwave absorption (MA) materials.29 Good MA materials require low RL, wide EAB, and thin service thickness.
