Modern management of T1 rectal cancer by TEM:a ten‐year single‐centre experience
Minimally‐invasive, organ‐sparing surgery has been used increasingly for early rectal cancer in recent years. However local recurrence remains a concern. This study presents a ten‐year single‐centre experience of recurrence after local excision for T1 rectal cancer. Data are collected prospectively on all patients undergoing local excision by transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) in a single institution. Data covering a 10‐year period were analysed.

A novel use of near infra-red light in assisting with TaTME planes - a video vignette
Transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) has gained popularity in the surgical management of low rectal cancers and is potentially advantageous to clinical, oncological and functional outcomes by providing more accurate TME dissection [1]. The transanal component of the procedure involves circumferential dissection of the mesorectum following purse-string closure until entering the peritoneal cavity [2].
Pregnancy after Laparoscopic Ventral Mesh Rectopexy: Implications and Outcomes
Surgical management of rectal prolapse varies considerably. Most surgeons are reluctant to use ventral mesh rectopexy in young women until they have completed their family. The aim of the present study was to review outcomes of pregnancy following laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy (LVMR) from a tertiary referral centre over a 10 year period (2006-2016) and to review the impact on pelvic floor symptoms.
Laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy after hysteropexy - a video vignette
Laparoscopic hysteropexy has a good success rate in terms of anatomical correction without recourse to hysterectomy (1) and uterine prolapse and disorders of the posterior pelvic compartment often coexist. In our institution, internal rectal prolapse is recognized as an aetiological factor for obstructed defaecation and faecal incontinence (2,3).
The LOREC APE registry - Operative technique, oncological outcome and perineal wound healing after abdominoperineal excision
The LOREC perineal wound healing registry was developed to record data on abdominoperineal excision (APE) for rectal cancer in colorectal units in England between 2012 and 2014 to understand current practice in operative technique and results. Surgeons wishing to participate received secure web-based access to the registry. Collected data included pre-operative staging, neo-adjuvant treatment, operative details, histopathology, early outcome and follow-up at 12 months.
