HG in keratinocytes and the impact of KdPT
Summary Diabetes is a common disease affecting millions of people worldwide. It is characterized by increased glucose concentrations in the blood and body. Chronic foot ulcers are one of the most serious complications in diabetes, affecting up to 10% of diabetic patients. Treatment of these ulcers remains difficult, resulting in high costs for healthcare systems as well as increased mortality in patients.

Image Gallery: Intravital visualization of the dynamic changes in human hair follicle cycling
Dear Editor, Macroscopically, the three well‐known hair follicle (HF) stages (anagen, catagen and telogen) cannot be distinguished from each other in a watertight manner; as, the hair cycle involves dynamic, continuous morphological changes. Image (A) is a representative example of the changing morphology in the different stages of the hair cycle of native human terminal scalp HFs as seen under the stereomicroscope immediately after surgical harvesting.

Eccrine sweat glands associate with the human hair follicle within a defined compartment of dermal white adipose tissue
Eccrine sweat glands (ESGs) are critical for thermoregulation and involved in wound healing. ESGs have traditionally been considered as separate skin appendages without connection to the pilosebaceous unit (PSU). However, recent preliminary evidence has encouraged the hypothesis that PSU and ESG are more interconnected than previously thought.
