MY INTEREST IN JOURNALISM & WRITING
My interest in journalism & writing dates back to my school days e.g.
while at Sainik School, Kunjpura (Karnal, India) I was a frequent contributor to the school magazine-cum-newsletter LITS ("Light In The Sky").
Even while at the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad, India: IIMA) I was Editor at the campus magazine "Synergy".
PRO BONO
My Pro-Bono interests include advising & mentoring business plan contestants; judging business plan and elevator pitch contests; chairing panel discussions; speaking about start ups, VC/PE investing practices etc at various fora to deepen & expand the eco-system.
EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I hold a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electronics Engineering and did my post-graduation from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). Along with my writing, I also wear a 2nd hat as an Angel Investor -- I am CEO at Kuruvindum, an early-stage (Angel/Seed) VC.
Kuruvindum has investments in innovative-tech start-ups in India & the USA. Our US investee company is into Drug Discovery & is filing a S-1 preparatory to a NASDAQ IPO.
I have earlier worked at senior levels such as BU Head, CEO, Group CEO etc in the Private Sector and as MD with the Government. My managerial experience spans mature companies, greenfield and turn-around roles.
I have been nominated to various honorary positions (ex-officio as well as otherwise) with governmental and other organizations. I am a member of Mensa, the UK based society for the exceptionally intelligent.
