Overall, social media is acting as a disruptive force in the news industry by changing how news is produced, distributed and monetized.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Writing on issues and events in order to keep people informed about what's happening in the world around them. This allows citizens to make educated decisions and participate meaningfully in their communities.
