Interview

Have you ever used a typewriter?

No.

How is social media changing news?

Social media creates the pressure of bringing news 'fast', rather than being credible.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Rita Skeeter! Although controversial, she is dedicated to her job.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To be a journalist is to be able to shape people's perceptions through words on a topic one loves to write on the most.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

At this point, I would be glad to receive any pitch at all!

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Microsoft Word and Grammarly are the only two tools I use.

What's your favorite social network?

Whatsapp

Who do you wish followed you?

Mark Pitman already follows me on Sportskeeda! But I wish Sid Lowe, Henry Winter, Jonathan Wilson, Graham Hunter, Oliver Holt followed me to.

Why did you become a journalist?

I've always had a passion for writing and for football. Therefore, combining the two seemed to be the most sensible option.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I did not work for my high school newspaper because our school didn't have one. In fact, I do not think any school in India has.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I write with complete passion, dedication and honesty. Therefore, I have had many incredible moments while writing.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

I am an amateur/aspiring journalist myself and so I should be the one receiving advice and not dishing them out!

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime!

What's your favorite drink?

Water!

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

I am most likely to be reading or ruminating on my next piece.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I have many. Maradona: Hand of God by Jimmy Burns is one of my all time favourites. Also Simon Kuper's Soccernomics; and Anna Karenina.
