Lattice defect engineering advances n-type PbSe thermoelectrics - Nature Communications
Abstract Te-free thermoelectrics have garnered significant interest due to their immense thermoelectric potential and low cost. However, most Te-free thermoelectrics have relatively low performance because of the strong electrical and thermal transport conflicts and unsatisfactory compatibility of interfaces between device materials.

Routes for Advancing SnTe Thermoelectrics
Routes for Advancing SnTe Thermoelectrics Conventional PbTe-based semiconductors have been leading the development of thermoelectric community due to the rich capabilities for optimizing the electronic and phonon transport properties. However, the growing environmental concern related to the toxic Pb is guiding the route of thermoelectrics towards lead-free. As an alternative analogue of PbTe, SnTe has recently attracted increasing research interest for thermoelectric energy conversion.
Boosting Thermoelectric Performance of Misfit-Layered (SnS)1.2(TiS2)2 by Co- and Cu-Substituted Alloying Effect
Understanding alloying effect is of critical significance for rationally designing high-efficient thermoelectric materials. Here, we report that a Co- and Cu-substituted alloying effect in misfit-layered (SnS)1.2(TiS2)2 can directly enhance thermoelectric performance with highest dimensionless figure of merit ZT~0.42 at 720 K up to now.
