Faith & Values: Connect with others on a deeper level
Anyone out there who remembers the good old days — you know, the days before cell phones. Some days I want to throw my phone out the window so I can get something done. I remember talking to my siblings across the dinner table instead of texting them — across the dinner table. Don’t get me wrong — cell phones and technology have their place and are great tools, if they don’t own you.

Insights: Relationships make the difference
I preached the funeral of a close family member a few months ago and the reality of the brevity of life once again set in. At 20 years old we are unstoppable – life is in front of us for the taking…bring it on! At 50 years old (yes I hit the big 5-0 this year) our perspective is substantially different.Hopefully we have not lost the “bring it on” attitude but our approach to getting it done changes as life happens. The more life we live the more important relationships become. Life is a journey.
Insights column: Make eternal preparation today
I have heard it said over the years that one must “dress for success”. I have given up on that philosophy this winter here in Butte and instead adopted a different theme. “Dress for survival” has become my mantra recently!!! It has been just plain cold this winter. Having spent my life in the North (Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Montana), nothing really surprises me about winter anymore. Be prepared for anything at any time and you will be just fine. Preparation is vital.
Best decision you can ever make
A few weeks back I attended the “Decision America” tour with Franklin Graham at the Capital steps in Helena. Thousands of people from across Montana and beyond joined together to pray for our nation. It was very refreshing to see folks from many different denominations and all walks of life choose to set aside their differences and unite together as one cooperate body in prayer for this great country we live in.
