Abstract Hypertension remains a major public health concern in Rwanda, yet many affected adults remain undiagnosed. This study examined the extent and determinants of undiagnosed hypertension using data from the nationally representative 2021–2022 Rwanda STEPS Survey. A total of 1,223 adults aged 18–69 years who met clinical criteria for hypertension were included in this cross-sectional analysis.
Abstract Underweight remains a significant public health concern among children under five years, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Globally, 149 million are stunted, 45million are wasted, while 37 million are overweight. This study aimed to assess the trends and determinants of underweight among children under five years in Rwanda using nationally representative data from 2005 to 2020.
Introduction Child stunting is a worldwide burden, especially in low- and middle-income countries. In addition, it was found that stunting becomes irreversible after 24 months of age. While looking for factors associated with stunting too early in Rwanda, we conceptualised that the characteristics of the children, mothers and household could ultimately affect the child’s feeding status, resulting in stunting too early.
