Find URLs and Email Addresses in InDesign with GREP
In this article we are dealing with patterns. Specifically with text patterns that are found in internet and email addresses. More on this later. First, let’s talk about the basics of GREP. InDesign has offered GREP Find/Change and GREP styles for a long time. If you’re wondering what GREP actually is, you’ll be delighted at the possibilities InDesign offers you for editing documents. GREP itself stands for Global Regular Expression Print.
Font Management - René Andritsch
The developers of RightFont claim that “RightFont is a fast, intuitive, and professional font management program for macOS that allows you to preview, install, manage, and share local fonts and Google Fonts.” Also with RightFont, a one-time payment of $59 gets you a lifetime license with updates within a year. For the time after that, you can get upgrades at a 50% discounted price. If you want to learn more about font licensing and font rental, I invite you to read my article “Fontastic”.
Creative Cloud Apps mit eingeschränktem statt keinem Pantone-Support
This is an update to an older article on this topic. As of writing there seems to be an agreement between Adobe and Pantone, as the announcement to remove the Pantone color libraries from the Creative Cloud earlier this year is now applied in a somewhat limited way. As you can read in the announcement below, the Pantone+ Coated (colors for coated paper), the Pantone+ Uncoated (colors for uncoated paper) and Pantone+ Metallic (metallic colors) libraries will still be accessible.

Improving the SelectObjects Script - InDesignSecrets.com
Thanks for coming to InDesignSecrets.com, the world's #1 resource for all things InDesign! Improving the SelectObjects Script Rene Andritsch March 11, 2019 As useful as the SelectObjects script is, it still could be more user-friendly. When you run the script all the options in the dialog are selected. If you only need one option it takes some time to untick the checkboxes next to all the unwanted options. And you have to do it every time you run the script. But luckily you can change that.

MacBook Pro Touch Bar: Where are my function keys? - InDesignSecrets.com
Thanks for coming to InDesignSecrets.com, the world's #1 resource for all things InDesign! MacBook Pro Touch Bar: Where are my function keys? Sandee Cohen February 10, 2019 The 2018 Touch Bar MacBook Pro laptops don’t have any function (F) keys. Instead there is a dynamic touch bar that changes according to the application and modifier keys chosen. Unfortunately, the default keyboard setup hides the function keys when InDesign is launched.

A Faster Find Change - InDesignSecrets.com
Thanks for coming to InDesignSecrets.com, the world's #1 resource for all things InDesign! A Faster Find Change Rene Andritsch February 2, 2019 The Find/Change function is probably one of the most used features in all of InDesign. So everyone should know how to use it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Most users open the Find/Change dialog and then type in what they need to find. But there is a convenient keyboard shortcut that autofills the “Find what:” field.
Provide an option to update a workspace.
If I make a change in my workspace, I must go here: Window menu > Workspace > New Workspace... and enter the name of the workspace I'm altering. Then I click OK and am presented with a dialog that says, "A workspace with that name already exists. Do you want to replace it?" An option like the following would be quite helpful. Window menu > Workspace > Update Workspace Or, if you prefer, make the name of the option Update Current Workspace. Thanks for considering this idea.
Preview InDesign Pages with INDD Preview for Mac - InDesignSecrets
If you use InDesign on a Mac, you may wish you had the ability to use the Finder’s QuickLook feature to preview your INDD files. By default, QuickLook will just show the generic InDesign document icon. But there are a few third-party add-ons that give you the ability to see real InDesign page previews with QuickLook. Among them are ID Util by Markzware, and Art View by Code Line. And now there’s another choice, inddPreview by Jennifer Hofer.
