Have you ever used a typewriter?

I got my first typewriter, an electric, in high school, then worked my way through all the early computers.

How is social media changing news?

Words are being weaponized and at the same time becoming less important than images.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I love to receive press releases through email, preferably with a usable quote.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Don't let the fact that your work will inevitably get mangled (by editors, layout, autocorrect) drive you crazy.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Driving my vintage Rialta RV or hanging out with my 90-year-old mom at a local happy hour.

Local indy newspapers, city mags wherever I am, Wired, Gun and Garden
