Why did Sugar Ramos go downhill so quickly?
Ramos was known to be struggling to make weight by that time, & Robertson made a point of extending the fight into the championship rnds by staying on the backfoot thru the 1st 9-10 rnds & saving up his energy for a big surge over the last 3rd of the fight. The strategy almost worked, but the early-mid rnd deficit may have been a bit too much to overcome.

Sonny Liston vs Evander Holyfield
Discussion in 'Classic Boxing Forum' started by Jester, . Over 15, who do you have winning? Liston of 59, or Holyfield or 91? I'd pick Liston in a thrilling fight. 00:00/00:00eastsideboxing Sonny Liston probably by stoppage or UD. That jab would be a real pain for EH. Great fight tho. EH by UD. I think he has the speed, combination punching and chin to frustrate Liston. escudo and Toney F*** U like this. holyfield by tko. 'hard to believe that some people rank liston above holyfield. why?
