What was your first job as a journalist?
Moderating comments at The Australian newspaper late into the evening. I loved being in a newsroom from day one.

No.

April O'Neil, the yellow jumpsuit-wearing TV news reporter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
#savebigbird and pretty much anything that came out of the 2012 US election debates.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
So many. Everything from broadcast-quality P2 cameras to the voice recorder on my iPhone, which is well used.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter.
Why did you become a journalist?
Sounds cliche, but I feel like it chose me.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Have good ideas. Always be ready to pitch a story. Talk to all kinds of people, everywhere you go. Make up your own mind.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime is a good time, although email is always preferred.
