Copper‐Catalyzed Dehydrogenative Amidation of Light Alkanes
Abstract The functionalization of C−H bonds in light alkanes, particularly to form C−N bonds, remains a challenge. We report the dehydrogenative coupling of amides with C1–C4 hydrocarbons to form N-alkyl amide products with tBuOOtBu as oxidant, and a copper complex of a phenanthroline-type ligand as catalyst. The reactions occurred in good yields in benzene or supercritical carbon dioxide as solvents.
A quantitative model for alkane nucleophilicity based on C‐H bond structural/topological descriptors
Communication Pedro J. Pérez Corresponding Author E-mail address: perez@dqcm.uhu.es Universidad de Huelva, Quimica y Ciencia de Materiales, Campus de El Carmen, 21007 Huelva, SPAIN Search for more papers by this author PDF PDF Share Abstract The first approach to a quantitative model to calculate nucleophilicity of alkanes is reported. A statistical treatment is applied to the analysis of the reactivity of twenty‐nine different alkane C‐H bonds toward in situ generated metal‐carbene electrophiles.
Methane Functionalization in Water with Micellar Catalysis
Methane Functionalization in Water with Micellar Catalysis The functionalization of methane in water as the reaction medium (where it is nearly insoluble) at room temperature, using micellar catalysis is described.
