Phil Berge has been creating animation from tattoos for years — and he’s inviting his fellow citizens to take part. The process is simple. Berge, a tattoo artist by trade, inks each frame of a short animation cycle onto a different person (the people generally don’t know each other). He takes a shot of each frame, strings them together, and voilà.

Blog Post No. 3700: Peter Arno's Changing Points of VIew
Four years ago, when I surveyed the original Peter Arno artwork that came from the estate of New Yorker cartoonistFrank Modell, I was unable to say much about one of the gag cartoons because it came to the market lacking its caption: Recently I came across Arno's cartoon of April 30, 1932 on the blog A New Yorker State of Mind and then everything fell into place. Modell had been holding onto preliminary art for a New Yorker gag that Arno totally reworked before publication: "Trapshooting?

Conventional Doc Elevated By Rich Mix Of Talking Heads
Anime is more popular outside Japan than ever, but scholarly attention lags behind fandom: the industry is still relatively unexplored by critics and academics in the Anglophone world. Studio Ghibli takes the lion’s share of attention, with a rank of lauded auteurs following behind: Mamoru Oshii, Katsuhiro Otomo, Satoshi Kon. Even these directors haven’t quite got their dues.
'Clifford The Big Red Dog' Intimidates New York In First Trailer
When the first-look teaser of Clifford the Big Red Dog came out in November, the cg pooch’s appearance drew mockery from people on social media, who seemed troubled by the fact that he looked like, well, a big red dog. We now see him in his context, running amok through New York while the live-action cast recoils in fear and bewilderment.
