Looking For Access Control Software Option For School With Schlage NDE Locks
Complete retrofit is not an option. Currently using Engage, which is pretty awful. Presently at 100 doors, but will be adding more up to 150. Single location. We'd like to retrofit GWE gateways, but I can't locate an up-to-date list of companies that support it. Some must-haves: 1. Lock-down mode2. Active Directory integration for user creation.3. GWE Gateway support4.
End Users Who Have Been Around A While Have Been Burned By Manufactures Selling Vapor Wear And The Trust Is Gone
In my experience EUs who have been around a while have been burned by manufactures selling vapor wear and the trust is gone. They know the integrator has to make it work so they tend to believe them more. This applies mostly to integrators with a heavy pre-sales engineer engagement approach as opposed to those with sales man who have the same vapor wear selling techniques as the manufacturer.

For example, we talk about using card scans/controllers/reporting to activate gasoline pumps at refueling stops for companies with vehicle fleets.
A Pulse Is The Minimum Requirement To Become A Partner For Many Manufacturers
That is certainly true...but the knife cuts both ways. It seems that a pulse is the minimum requirement to become a partner for many manufacturers. If manufacturers want to improve the outcomes, they should do a better job of protecting territories and their "white glove" integrators. When dealing with specifiers, they should push not only the product (so long as it is the right solution), but their integrators as well. More integrators != more market share or sales revenue in long run.
Should We Stop Doing Business With Manufacturers Who Can't Seem To Make Product?
How long is reasonable to back-order a common items these days? With several of my key manufacturer vendors, I am not seeing it get much better than at the height of the pandemic. 30, 40, 60 weeks is the norm STILL. This is for access control gear. I am hearing long lead times at some customers for big ticket items like commercial generators and parts, as well as some electrical switchgear parts.
