Ever since I was small, I loved observing things, analyzing and deconstructing the parts, asking questions, and figuring out the bigger picture. Never content to receive anything but an evidence-backed answer, I've ruthlessly pursued the truth in all things, accumulating facts at every opportunity and educating others on what I've learned. I always thought I'd end up doing something related to science or the natural world.
Did I ever expect to end up writing SEO content, devising and implementing marketing strategies, managing digital marketing campaigns, composing marketing emails, facilitating brand collaborations, writing copy, and so on? No, I didn't. Being interested in learning so many things makes it hard to pick just one speciality. Nevertheless, I've found that my ability to comprehend technical terms, break down scientific studies and summarize them in more comprehensive, easier-to-understand words is a valuable skill when it comes to educating others.
I'm drawn to content writing and marketing strategy because—at least to me—it's about helping others spark their curiosity and experience the joy of learning. Not to mention, as someone who has been fighting misinformation ever since the day I raised my hand to contest my teacher's drawing of a hammerhead shark (she drew the eyes in the wrong location and gave it only three gill-slits), I've found the pen (or at least the keyboard) to be the most powerful means of informing audiences.
Ultimately, my passion is inseparable from my writing and my work. I want to write for companies and individuals whose mission I genuinely care about and embrace. I prioritize customer transparency, sustainability, fact-checking, creativity, and innovation. As a very goal-oriented and logic-driven person, I do well in team leadership and strategist roles. However, I also do well working with startups and small teams; I can wear many hats (even the leopard-skin pillbox ones, à la Bob Dylan).
Some things I enjoy include training dogs, doing logic puzzles, reading about primitive canids, running, observing wildlife, watching paleontology videos, drinking tea, and finding humor in the absurd. I'm a plant advocate, herbalism enthusiast, and anti-prohibitionist. I happen to be a Fulbright Award recipient and am fluent in French.
