Ripton Rosen’s Biography

Ripton Rosen is a published author and accomplished investor with a unique personal background. Rosen has two articles published on Medium – ‘Gradient Descent: Into the Algorithm’ and ‘So, Every Movie Is a Sequel.’ In ‘Gradient Descent: Into the Algorithm,’ he delves into how gradient descent, an iterative process widely used in machine learning, works. The article breaks down the concepts for readers who may not have experience in the field, making it accessible to various audiences. In ‘So, Every Movie Is a Sequel,’ Rosen explores the increasing trend of Hollywood creating sequels, spinoffs, and remakes instead of original content. He explains why studios are drawn to intellectual property, often resulting in a lack of diverse content for movie-goers. Rosen was previously adapted into the Rosen family by Michael Rosen, a renowned real-estate developer. Growing up, Ripton experienced a unique family dynamic with Morgan, his brother, and six local boys from the East Village housing projects. The boys, whom Ripton and Morgan met while playing baseball, would become regulars in the Rosen household, playing Nintendo and having dinner with the family.

The Rosen family supported the boys extensively, moving some of them into the house and helping them attend college. Michael Rosen went on to write a memoir about the family's journey called ‘What Else But Home: Seven Boys and an American Journey Between the Projects and the Penthouse.' Rosen's childhood inspired his passion for volunteering with New York Cares, where he aims to provide recreational opportunities to youth in the city and assist those living with food insecurity. Rosen is currently an investor in New York City and resides there. His unique experiences growing up have instilled a keen interest in philanthropic and investment endeavors.
