How is social media changing news?
Social media has completely changed the way we consume news. It provides easy access to news and trending or viral stories. Sharing of news has become much easier because of social media. Social media has also provided a solid platform to amplify and extend the reach of news.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
As a journalist who has contributed to public scholarship, I see myself as a creator of infotainment - writing entertaining, informative and research-backed articles.

This question is like choosing between vices. Assuming that the question is about online social networks and not F2F social networks, I will pick Facebook.
Why did you become a journalist?
I am a true-blue academic who emerged as a journalist somewhat organically and informally.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In the kitchen, cooking. Cooking is my nirvana. I don’t like to be disturbed at all while cooking and can conjure magical dishes when the situation demands. However, I haven’t been able to achieve much of nirvana lately.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Technology is the panacea for all problems. However, that isn’t entirely true. Technology is only an enabler that assists in reforming processes.
