Las Vegas Review-Journal — A judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit claiming that Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval and Attorney General Adam Laxalt did not do enough to enforce a law to expand background checks on gun sales. The Gazette (Colorado) — A local geologist who examined a Colorado Springs property for landslide damage on Wednesday found that the land is unstable but not an imminent danger to nearby homes. Tim Mitros, the city's stormwater manager, said the land at the home on Constellation Drive in southwest Colorado Springs has shifted about 6½ feet since he first examined it on July 15.
