Unlocking opportunity Unlocking opportunity Unlocking opportunity
As I reflect on my first full year as the University of Washington’s 34th president, I am struck by the extraordinary reach of our public university and the responsibility that comes with it. It happens not only in our classrooms, labs, hospitals and clinics, but through the impact that alumni, friends and supporters create in their communities.
‘Nurture others. Nurture yourself’
Steven G. Ullman’s parents received only minimal education owing to their status as refugees of World War II, and so the gifts that come with learning and knowledge were among the highest values they instilled in their children.
