Bob (Peabod) Taylor is passionate about travel. For more than three decades, the ex-professional baseball player, sportscaster and former U.S. Marine, has been quenching his wanderlust thirst by traveling the word in search of interesting people, places and life altering experiences. Peabod has taught World Destinations at the largest community college in the country, written travel articles for The Boston Herald, Detroit Free Press and New York Post among other national newspapers. Currently he writes a monthly travel column for The Charlotte Observer and a weekly travel column for The Washington Times Communities. During more than 30 years of travel, Peabod has visited over 70 countries and is pursuing a personal goal to visit 100 or more countries during his lifetime. Peabod is also founder of The Magellan Travel Club (www.MagellanTravelClub.com) as a means for people with a wanderlust spirit to obtain and share travel information from a variety of disciplines including literature, photography, tips and tours. Peabod's journeys throughout the world have been as life-altering. Travel, for Taylor an on-going metamorphosis that defines who he is today and who he will become in the future. It is a passion that has been a journey filled with discovery; discovery of people, of places, of events and, most of all, himself and the role each of us plays in life. Travel has increased he cultural awareness, knowledge and understanding of world and the global community in which we live.
