ROBIN HAWDON (robinhawdon.com)
British writer on everything theatrical, political, and literary.
His career has spanned many aspects of the arts. As an actor he played leading roles in London's West End and on TV, and made a number of films - starring in When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth, and the spoof James Bond thriller, Zeta One. He was also scheduled to film test for the real James Bond, but this was cancelled when Roger Moore accepted the part.
However, Robin stopped acting some time ago to concentrate on the saner careers of writing and directing. He founded the UK Bath Fringe Festival, and went on to become Director of the Theatre Royal Bath, perhaps Britain's premier regional theatre, where he hosted many of Britain's and Hollywood's legendary stars.
As a playwright, his plays have been produced in over fifty countries. There have been productions in major theatres in London, New York, Chicago, Paris, Berlin, Bonn, Warsaw, Tel Aviv, Sydney, Johannesburg, Russia, Scandinavia, Italy, etc. At any one moment there are at least twenty Hawdon productions running in various countries and in diverse languages.
His novels have attracted many five star reviews on Amazon, including for his new show-biz memoir, Almost Famous. His first political thriller, Number Ten, was short listed for America's International Thriller Award.
He now concentrates on writing articles on all things universal, political, theatrical, and nonsensical. His website, robinhawdon.com, describes his activities, and also links to his blog for writers and his regular newsletter. He commentates regularly for British periodicals, Meer magazine, and various show biz publications.
Robin’s wife of over forty years, Sheila, is a psychotherapist and writer. They have two writer daughters, four grandchildren, and homes in Bath, the South of France and Australia.
